Community Rebuilders is dedicated to ending homelessness in Kent County. We utilize a strengths-based, housing first model with a goal of rehousing persons experiencing a housing crisis in under 14 days. Please see below a brief description of current projects at Community Rebuilders.
This project provides long-term rental assistance for homeless persons with disabilities such as mental illness or substance abuse. Referrals and supportive services come from our county certified community-agencies.
Also known as HEROES, this project provides long-term rental assistance for homeless Veterans with disabilities such as mental illness or substance abuse. Participants are teamed with a trained Housing Resource Specialist to assist in developing a strength-based housing plan to maintain housing stability.
Also know at VRS, this short-term transitional housing project serves homeless Veterans and their families. Participants partner with their Housing Resource Specialists to achieve their goals of increasing income and moving from their transitional apartment into a permanent housing arrangement within six-months or less.

This rapid rehousing project provides short-term rental assistance to homeless families. Participants partner with their Housing Resource Specialist to develop a strengths-based housing stability plan to achieve goals related to increasing income and maintaining long-term permanent housing.
The LOFT project provides long-term rental assistance to chronically homeless, disabled adults. Participants achieve long-term housing stability while working on personal goals developed with their Housing Resource Specialist.
Also known at SSVF, this project supports Veterans and their families with housing supports and case management services to prevent and end Veteran homelessness in Kent County.
The Housing Solutions project is a long-term rental assistance program designed to serve chronically homeless adults and chronically homeless families. Strength-based housing stability plans are developed in partnership with trained Housing Resource Specialists for participants to achieve personal and financial goals.
Also known as ESG, this project offers short-term rental assistance for both rapidly rehousing homeless families and preventing families and individuals from becoming homeless. This assistance provides participants the boost they need to stabilize their lives and maintain long-term permanent housing.
This project provides short-term rental assistance for up to 6 months to qualifying families and individuals who are experiencing a housing crisis.
